NIGHT RIDES (AND MORE)

Sydney X Rides is a riding group organised by Jules and Marie. It originally began as Sydney Night Rides, a name which its Facebook group and Instagram pages still maintains.

The group had begun in mid-2015 with a number of people meeting up weekly to enjoy the streets of Sydney on weeknights—when the streets are quiet, and a large of group well-lit cyclists are highly visible.

Not long after Sydney Night Rides began, the group collectively began organising many rides which did not take place at night—some trips for food in various parts of Sydney (Sydney Night and Food Rides?), and also out to various national parks (Sydney Night, Food and Nature Rides?), and, of course, to various pubs and breweries (Sydney Night, Food, Nature and Pub Rides?).

And so with all the variance in themes, yet being invariantly about riding in and around Sydney, SXR was born.

And on December 12th 2015, SXR (officially) began. Naturally, there were a variety of things—a picnic, some portraits, some music, some beer, and, of course, some riding (video below by Isabell Thrun).
